Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

• Local Infiltration: Max single dose for adults is 4.5 mg/kg (without Adrenaline) or 7 mg/kg (with Adrenaline).
• Anti-arrhythmic (IV): Initial bolus of 1 mg/kg. Maintenance infusion of 1–4 mg/min.
• Safety Monitoring: Constant ECG and blood pressure monitoring are mandatory during IV administration.

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

• Systemic Toxicity (LAST): Accidental IV injection of large doses intended for local blocks can cause seizures, respiratory arrest, and cardiovascular collapse.
• Heart Block: Contraindicated in patients with severe degrees of SA, AV, or intraventricular heart block unless a pacemaker is present.
• Liver Impairment: Dosage must be reduced in patients with hepatic disease as Lidocaine is primarily metabolized by the liver.
• Methemoglobinemia: Use with caution in patients at risk for this condition.
