• Treatment Duration (CRITICAL): Treatment should be continued until two normal stools are recorded. Treatment should not exceed 7 consecutive days.
• Hydration Therapy: Racecadotril must ALWAYS be administered alongside abundant liquid intake or Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) to physically replace the lost fluids and electrolytes.

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

• Dysentery / Bloody Diarrhea (CRITICAL CONTRAINDICATION): Racecadotril is strictly contraindicated in cases of severe invasive diarrhea characterized by high fever, blood, or purulent mucus in the stool, as these symptoms indicate an invasive bacterial infection requiring systemic antibiotics.
• Angioedema Risk (ACE Inhibitor Interaction): There is an increased risk of severe angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or glottis) when Racecadotril is co-administered with ACE inhibitors (like Enalapril or Lisinopril). Concurrent use should be avoided or heavily monitored.
