Description
Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl Trinitrate) Injection
Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of critical care cardiovascular agents. We provide high-purity Nitroglycerin Injection (5 mg / ml), manufactured in WHO–GMP certified sterile facilities. This “Rapid Vasodilator” is a mandatory export to coronary care units (CCU), cardiac surgery centers, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the first-line intervention for unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, and peri-operative hypertension.
Product Overview
This formulation contains Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl Trinitrate), an organic nitrate that acts as a potent vasodilator.
The “Preload Reducer” Specialist:
- Mechanism (The NO Donor): Nitroglycerin is a prodrug that is converted into Nitric Oxide (NO) within the vascular smooth muscle. NO activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, increasing cGMP levels, which causes calcium sequestration and smooth muscle relaxation.
- Venous Dominance: At low doses, it primarily dilates veins (venodilation), which pools blood in the periphery and reduces the return of blood to the heart (Decreased Preload). This reduces the workload of the heart and its oxygen demand.
- Arterial Effect: At higher doses, it dilates arteries (Decreased Afterload), lowering systemic blood pressure.

Manufacturing Authority
Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.
- Sorption Prevention: Nitroglycerin is lipophilic and readily absorbs into standard PVC plastics. Our formulation guidelines strictly recommend the use of Glass, Polyethylene (PE), or Polypropylene (PP) containers and non-PVC tubing for administration to prevent up to 40-80% loss of the active drug.
- Stability: Formulated with a precise ethanol/propylene glycol base to ensure the volatile active ingredient remains stable in solution without precipitation.
Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)
Indicated for the rapid control of cardiovascular emergencies:
- Unstable Angina Pectoris: Relief of chest pain refractory to sublingual nitrates.
- Acute Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack): To reduce ischemia and myocardial oxygen demand.
- Acute Left Ventricular Failure: Pulmonary edema.
- Hypertensive Crisis: Rapid reduction of blood pressure during surgery or emergency.
- Controlled Hypotension: During neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery to reduce bleeding.
Dosage & Administration
Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Cardiologist):
- Route: Intravenous (IV) Infusion ONLY. (Must be diluted).
- Dilution: Dilute in 5% Dextrose or 0.9% Sodium Chloride in a Glass Bottle. (Do not use PVC bags).
- Initial Dose: 5 mcg/min via infusion pump. Increase by 5 mcg/min every 3-5 minutes until response is noted.
- Titration: Dosage is highly individual and must be titrated against Blood Pressure and Heart Rate monitoring.
Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):
- Hypotension: Severe drop in blood pressure can occur. Stop infusion if SBP drops below 90 mmHg.
- PVC Interaction: DO NOT use standard PVC IV sets. The drug binds to the plastic, leading to under-dosing. Use special non-PVC (Nitroglycerin-compatible) tubing sets.
- Viagra Interaction: CONTRAINDICATED within 24 hours of taking Sildenafil (Viagra) or Tadalafil. The combination causes fatal hypotension.
- Headache: Severe “Nitrate Headache” is a common side effect due to cerebral vasodilation.
