Multivitamin Injection

Free

Multivitamin injections (commonly branded as M.V.I.) are sterile formulations designed to replenish essential nutrients when oral intake is insufficient. These injections typically come as a concentrated solution that must be diluted in an intravenous (IV) fluid (like saline or dextrose) before administration

Description

Multivitamin Infusion (MVI – Adult)

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of essential parenteral nutrition therapies. We provide high-purity Multivitamin Infusion (MVI-12 / MVI-13), manufactured in WHO–GMP certified sterile facilities. This “Metabolic Catalyst” is a mandatory export to intensive care units (ICU), burn centers, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the critical micronutrient foundation for patients on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) or those suffering from severe malnutrition.

Product Overview

This formulation contains a balanced blend of Fat-Soluble (A, D, E, K) and Water-Soluble (B-Complex, C) vitamins, solubilized for intravenous use.

The “Cellular Fuel” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (The Co-Enzyme Effect): Vitamins act as essential co-factors for hundreds of enzymatic reactions.
    • B-Complex: Drives the Krebs Cycle (energy production) and maintains nerve function.
    • Vitamin C: Essential for collagen synthesis (wound healing) and antioxidant protection.
    • Vitamin A/D/E: Maintains epithelial integrity, bone homeostasis, and immune function.
  • TPN Necessity: Patients receiving IV feeding (glucose/amino acids/lipids) MUST receive MVI. Without it, the sudden metabolic surge can deplete existing vitamin stores, leading to fatal conditions like Refeeding Syndrome or Wernicke’s Encephalopathy.
  • Recovery Support: Accelerates tissue repair in burns, trauma, and post-operative recovery states.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Micellization Technology: Combining fat-soluble (oily) and water-soluble vitamins in one injection is chemically difficult. We use advanced surfactant technology (Polysorbate/Lecithin) to create stable mixed micelles, ensuring the solution remains clear and safe for IV use without risk of fat embolism.
  • Oxygen Protection: Vitamins (especially C and B1) degrade rapidly in the presence of oxygen. Our filling lines use Nitrogen Headspace Replacement to ensure potency is maintained throughout the shelf life.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the prevention and treatment of vitamin deficiency:

  • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN): Daily maintenance for patients unable to eat.
  • Severe Malabsorption: Short Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease.
  • Hypermetabolic States: Major burns, polytrauma, and severe sepsis.
  • Pre/Post-Operative Support: To optimize wound healing and immune response.
  • Chronic Alcoholism: Prevention of Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (Thiamine deficiency).

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Intravenous (IV) Infusion ONLY.
  • Dilution (MANDATORY): Must be added to at least 500 ml to 1000 ml of IV fluids (Saline, Dextrose, or TPN bag).
  • Adults: One daily dose (10 ml) added to the infusion.
  • Pediatrics: Specific pediatric formulations (MVI-Pediatric) should be used based on weight.
  • Rate: Infuse slowly over several hours. Never give as a direct IV bolus (causes dizziness and irritation).

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

  • Anaphylaxis: Thiamine (Vitamin B1) can cause rare but severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock) when given IV. Monitor patient during start of infusion.
  • Vitamin A Toxicity: Caution in patients with renal failure, as Vitamin A can accumulate and cause bone toxicity.
  • Light Sensitivity: Vitamins degrade in light. Cover the IV bag/tubing with opaque material if the infusion lasts longer than 24 hours.
  • Compatibility: Do not mix in the same syringe with other drugs (physically incompatible with many antibiotics and alkaline solutions).
