Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

• Route: Deep Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV) Infusion.
• Adults (Serious Infections): 600 mg IM every 24 hours.
• Adults (Severe Infections): 600 mg IM every 12 hours (or more frequently).
• IV Infusion (Adults): 600 mg to 1 g diluted in at least 100 ml of Saline/Dextrose, infused over 1 hour.
• Pediatric: 10 mg/kg/day (IM) or 10-20 mg/kg/day (IV infusion).

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

• C. difficile Warning: Like Clindamycin, Lincomycin can cause Pseudomembranous Colitis. Discontinue immediately if severe diarrhea occurs.
• Infusion Rate: NEVER give as an IV Bolus (“Push”). Rapid injection can cause syncope or cardiac arrest. Must be infused over 1 hour.
• Benzyl Alcohol: Contains Benzyl Alcohol; not for use in neonates (“Gasping Syndrome”).
• Allergy: Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Lincosamides.
