Description
Cefotaxime Sodium Injection
Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of high-safety third-generation cephalosporins. We provide high-purity Cefotaxime Sodium Injection (1g / 500mg / 250mg), sourced from WHO–GMP certified sterile injectable facilities. This “Blood-Brain Barrier Specialist” is a top export to neonatal intensive care units (NICU), neurology wards, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the gold standard for treating bacterial meningitis and severe infections in newborns.
Product Overview
This formulation contains Cefotaxime Sodium, a third-generation cephalosporin distinguished by its exceptional safety profile and metabolic stability.
The “Safe Passage” Specialist:
- Meningitis Master: Unlike many other antibiotics, Cefotaxime has excellent penetration into the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) when the meninges are inflamed. This makes it the drug of choice for treating bacterial meningitis caused by Neisseria meningitidis, H. influenzae, and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
- Neonatal Safety (The “Jaundice” Advantage): Unlike Ceftriaxone, Cefotaxime has low affinity for albumin and does not displace bilirubin. This makes it the safest cephalosporin for neonates, as it avoids the risk of kernicterus (brain damage from jaundice), allowing its use even in premature infants.
- Active Metabolite: It is metabolized in the liver to Desacetyl-cefotaxime, which is also an active antibiotic. This metabolite works synergistically with the parent drug, providing a “double-hit” against pathogens.

We supply this product as a Sterile Dry Powder for Injection in glass vials. The sodium content is lower than many other cephalosporins (approx 2.2 mmol/g).

Manufacturing Authority
Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.
- Color Stability: Cefotaxime is sensitive to light and heat, turning yellow-brown if degraded. We use advanced sterile crystallization and light-protective packaging to ensure the powder remains white to pale yellow, indicating maximum potency.
- Endotoxin Control: Because it is frequently used in high doses for meningitis (traversing the blood-brain barrier), our endotoxin limits are strictly controlled to prevent inflammatory responses in the CNS.
Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)
Indicated for the treatment of serious infections:
- Bacterial Meningitis: Drug of choice for empirical therapy in children and adults.
- Neonatal Sepsis: First-line treatment for sepsis in newborns (0-28 days).
- Gonorrhea: Single-dose treatment for penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae (PPNG).
- Lyme Disease: Neurological or cardiac manifestations (Neuroborreliosis).
- Respiratory Tract: Severe pneumonia.
