Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

• Route: Intravenous (IV) Injection or Infusion ONLY. (Not for IM use due to instability).
• Adults: 1.2 g every 8 hours. In severe infections, every 6 hours.
• Children: 30 mg/kg/day (based on Amoxicillin component) in divided doses.
• Administration: Inject slowly over 3-4 minutes or infuse over 30-40 minutes.
• Stability Warning: Once reconstituted, the solution must be used within 20 minutes. Do not mix with Dextrose/Glucose (less stable). Use Saline.

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

• Hepatic Toxicity: Amoxicillin/Clavulanate is associated with a higher risk of drug-induced liver injury (cholestatic jaundice) than Amoxicillin alone. Monitor liver function in elderly patients.
• Penicillin Allergy: CONTRAINDICATED in penicillin-hypersensitive patients.
• Discoloration: If the reconstituted solution is brown or pink, DO NOT USE. It indicates Clavulanate degradation.
