Lignocaine Injection

Free

Lignocaine injection (also known as Lidocaine) is a sterile, aqueous solution primarily used as a local anaesthetic and antiarrhythmic agent. Its composition varies depending on whether it is a single-dose or multi-dose formulation and whether it includes a vasoconstrictor.

Description

Lignocaine (Lidocaine) Hydrochloride Injection

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of high-purity local anesthetics and anti-arrhythmic agents. We provide Lignocaine Hydrochloride Injection (1% / 2%), manufactured in WHO–GMP certified sterile facilities. This “Versatile Anesthetic” is a top export to emergency trauma centers, surgical wards, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the universal standard for local numbing, nerve blocks, and the acute management of ventricular arrhythmias.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Lignocaine Hydrochloride, an amide-type local anesthetic that acts as a membrane stabilizing agent.

The “Dual-Utility” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (Local Anesthesia): Lignocaine works by blocking the voltage-gated sodium channels in the neuronal membrane. This stops the conduction of sensory nerve impulses (pain, touch, temperature) from reaching the brain, providing a rapid and reversible loss of sensation.
  • Anti-arrhythmic Role (Class Ib): When administered intravenously, Lignocaine acts on the heart’s Purkinje fibers. It suppresses automaticity and shortens the action potential duration, making it a critical drug for treating Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) and PVCs during acute myocardial infarction.
  • Fast Onset: It provides a rapid onset of action (2–5 minutes for infiltration) with an intermediate duration of 1 to 2 hours.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Sterile Fill Integrity: Lignocaine is a staple in emergency medicine. Our manufacturing utilizes Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) or high-speed glass filling lines with terminal sterilization to ensure 100% pyrogen-free and sterile output.
  • Preservative Optimization: For hospital bulk supply (30ml/50ml vials), we use validated concentrations of Methylparaben to allow for safe multiple withdrawals while maintaining antimicrobial efficacy.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for local anesthesia and cardiac stabilization:

  • Local Anesthesia: Infiltration anesthesia, field blocks, and major/minor nerve blocks.
  • Surgical Procedures: Epidural and caudal anesthesia.
  • Cardiology: Emergency treatment of ventricular arrhythmias occurring during cardiac surgery or acute myocardial infarction.
  • Pain Management: Adjunct in neuropathic pain or for surface anesthesia of mucous membranes.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Infiltration, IV Bolus/Infusion, IM, Epidural, or Subcutaneous.
  • Local Anesthesia: 5 mg/kg (Not to exceed 300 mg). Max dose increases to 7 mg/kg if used with Adrenaline.
  • Anti-arrhythmic (IV Bolus): 50–100 mg (1 mg/kg) at a rate of 25–50 mg/min.
  • Maintenance Infusion: 1–4 mg/min.
  • Toxicity Warning: Always have Resuscitative Equipment and Oxygen available when using Lignocaine for major blocks.

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

  • LAST (Local Anesthetic Systemic Toxicity): Accidental IV injection of a high dose can cause CNS excitement, seizures, and cardiovascular collapse.
  • Liver Function: Since Lignocaine is metabolized in the liver, dose reduction is required in patients with hepatic failure or reduced liver blood flow.
  • Heart Block: Use with extreme caution in patients with sinus bradycardia or second/third-degree heart block.
  • Malignant Hyperthermia: Although rare, amide anesthetics have been linked to triggering this condition.
