Product Overview

This formulation contains Ivermectin, a semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactone derived from Streptomyces avermitilis.

The “Paralyzing” Specialist:

  • Mechanism: Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This binding increases the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, leading to hyperpolarization, paralysis, and death of the parasite.
  • Selectivity: It is safe for humans because mammals (humans) do not have glutamate-gated chloride channels, and Ivermectin does not readily cross the human blood-brain barrier.
  • Microfilaricidal: It rapidly kills the immature larvae (microfilariae) of filarial worms, stopping the progression of diseases like River Blindness and Elephantiasis.
  • Scabies Control: A single oral dose is highly effective for Crusted Scabies or community outbreaks where topical creams are impractical.

  • Solubility Enhancement: Ivermectin is practically insoluble in water. We use solid dispersion technology during granulation to ensure the drug dissolves completely in the GI tract for maximum absorption.
  • Assay Precision: Given the low dosage (mg), we use high-precision blending to ensure content uniformity in every tablet.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of parasitic infections:

  • Strongyloidiasis: Intestinal infection caused by Strongyloides stercoralis.
  • Onchocerciasis: River Blindness caused by Onchocerca volvulus.
  • Lymphatic Filariasis: Caused by Wuchereria bancrofti (often co-administered with Albendazole).
  • Scabies: Treatment of classic or crusted (Norwegian) scabies, especially in immunocompromised patients.
  • Pediculosis (Lice): For head lice resistant to topical treatment.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Dosing Strategy: Almost always given as a Single Dose based on body weight (approx. 200 mcg/kg).
  • Example (Scabies/Strongyloides):
    • 15–24 kg: 3 mg (One 3mg tab)
    • 25–35 kg: 6 mg (One 6mg tab)
    • 36–50 kg: 9 mg (One and a half 6mg tabs)
    • 51–65 kg: 12 mg (Two 6mg tabs or One 12mg tab)
    • >80 kg: 200 mcg/kg
  • Administration: Take with a full glass of water on an empty stomach (1 hour before breakfast).

Safety Warnings:

  • Mazzotti Reaction: In patients with high microfilarial loads (Onchocerciasis), dying parasites can cause a severe allergic reaction (fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, tachycardia). Steroids may be needed.
  • Loa Loa Risk: Contraindicated in patients from West/Central Africa with high Loa loa (Eye worm) loads, as it can cause fatal encephalopathy. Screening is mandatory in these regions.
  • Pregnancy: Safety has not been established. Avoid unless benefits clearly outweigh risks.
