Furosemide injection (commonly known by the brand name Lasix) is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, clear and colourless solution of a potent “loop” diuretic. It is used to rapidly treat oedema (fluid retention) associated with heart, liver, or kidney disease and for hypertensive emergencies.
