Safety Warnings:
- Heart Failure (BLACK BOX WARNING): Can cause fluid retention, which may exacerbate or lead to heart failure. Do not use in patients with NYHA Class III or IV heart failure.
- Bladder Cancer: Long-term use (>1 year) has a slightly increased risk of bladder cancer. Do not use in patients with active bladder cancer or history of it.
- Bone Fractures: Increased risk of bone fractures in women.
- Edema: Watch for rapid weight gain or swelling of the feet.
