Description

Cefpirome & Sulbactam Injection

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of high-end cephalosporin/beta-lactamase inhibitor combinations. We provide high-purity Cefpirome & Sulbactam Injection (1.5g), sourced from WHO–GMP certified sterile injectable facilities. This “ICU Super-Shield” is a top export to oncology centers, critical care units, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as a last-line defense against multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria, particularly in immunocompromised patients.

Product Overview

This formulation combines Cefpirome, a fourth-generation zwitterionic cephalosporin, with Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor with unique intrinsic activity.

The “Double-Lock” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (Rapid Penetration): Cefpirome’s zwitterionic structure allows it to pass through the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria faster than older cephalosporins. Once inside, it binds to Penicillin-Binding Proteins (PBPs) to stop cell wall synthesis.
  • The Sulbactam Advantage (Acinetobacter): While Cefpirome is naturally stable against many enzymes, adding Sulbactam extends the spectrum to include anaerobes (*Bacteroides*) and provides direct activity against Acinetobacter baumannii, a critical pathogen in ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) that Cefpirome alone might miss.
  • Neutropenia Defense: This combination is widely used as empirical therapy for Febrile Neutropenia (fever in cancer patients with low immunity) because it covers both resistant Staph (Gram-positive) and Pseudomonas (Gram-negative).

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Hygroscopicity Management: Sulbactam is highly sensitive to moisture. We manufacture this combination in ultra-low humidity suites (< 20% RH) to ensure the powder remains free-flowing and chemically stable inside the vial.
  • Chemical Compatibility: Cefpirome is acidic, while Sulbactam Sodium is alkaline. Our formulation uses precise buffering to ensuring a neutral pH upon reconstitution, preventing precipitation and minimizing vein irritation during infusion.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of severe, life-threatening infections:

  • Febrile Neutropenia: Empirical antibiotic therapy in cancer patients.
  • Severe Nosocomial Pneumonia: Hospital-acquired (HAP) and Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) involving MDR organisms.
  • Complicated UTIs: Pyelonephritis with structural abnormalities.
  • Septicemia/Bacteremia: Bloodstream infections caused by mixed flora.
  • Skin & Soft Tissue: Deep-seated infections, diabetic foot, and burns.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Intravenous (IV) Infusion Preferred. (Can be given Deep IM).
  • Adults: 1.5 g (1g + 0.5g) every 12 hours. In severe infections, every 8 hours.
  • Neutropenia/Pseudomonas: Dosing frequency may be increased to every 8 hours.
  • Renal Impairment: Dose adjustment is mandatory if Creatinine Clearance < 50 ml/min.
  • Reconstitution: Dissolve 1.5g vial in 10-20ml WFI/Saline. Shake well. Carbon dioxide release is normal (vent the vial).
