Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

• Route: Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) Injection.
• Surgical Prophylaxis: 250 mg to 500 mg IV/IM 1 hour before surgery. Repeat during surgery if needed.
• Acute Bleeding: 250 mg to 500 mg IV every 4-6 hours.
• Neonates: 12.5 mg/kg body weight IV/IM within 2 hours of birth.
• Topical Use: A sterile swab soaked in the injection solution can be applied directly to a bleeding wound (e.g., tooth socket or skin graft).

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

• Discoloration: Discard if solution is colored (Pink/Brown). This indicates oxidation and loss of potency.
• Blood Pressure: Generally safe, but transient hypotension may occur with rapid IV injection. Monitor BP.
• Sulfite Allergy: Contains Sodium Metabisulfite; use with caution in asthmatics.
• Compatibility: Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe (especially Sodium Bicarbonate or Lactate).
