Description

Tetracycline Capsules

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of essential broad-spectrum antimicrobials and dermatological therapeutics. We provide high-purity Tetracycline Capsules (250 mg / 500 mg), manufactured in WHO–GMP certified oral solid dosage facilities. This “First-Generation Polyketide Antibiotic” is a high-volume, mandatory export to infectious disease clinics, dermatology centers, and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as a foundational intervention for severe acne vulgaris, cholera, and atypical bacterial infections.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Tetracycline (as Tetracycline Hydrochloride), a short-acting, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic.

The “30S Ribosomal” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (Protein Synthesis Blockade): Tetracycline passively diffuses through porin channels in the bacterial cell membrane and reversibly binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit. By physically obstructing the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex, it halts the addition of amino acids to the growing peptide chain, effectively shutting down bacterial protein synthesis and preventing replication.
  • Broad-Spectrum Utility: It exhibits potent activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as atypical organisms like Rickettsiae, Mycoplasma, and Chlamydia.
  • The Dermatological & GI Anchor: Beyond acute systemic infections, Tetracycline is heavily utilized in long-term dermatology for its dual antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties against Cutibacterium acnes. In gastroenterology, it is a core component of “Bismuth Quadruple Therapy” for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Hygroscopic Degradation Control: When exposed to moisture and heat, Tetracycline rapidly degrades into epianhydrotetracycline, a highly toxic compound. Our encapsulation lines operate under strict, low-humidity environmental controls (RH <30%) to guarantee long-term stability and absolute therapeutic safety over the product’s shelf life.
  • Gastric Dispersion Optimization: Formulated for rapid dissolution in the stomach, ensuring fast peak serum concentrations within 1 to 2 hours of ingestion on an empty stomach.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of a vast array of bacterial infections:

  • Dermatology: Severe inflammatory acne vulgaris and rosacea.
  • Gastroenterology: Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with bismuth, metronidazole, and a PPI).
  • Epidemic/Endemic Diseases: Cholera (Vibrio cholerae), Brucellosis, and Plague.
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections: Syphilis (in Penicillin-allergic patients) and uncomplicated Chlamydial infections.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Administration (CRITICAL FOOD RULE): Unlike Doxycycline, classic Tetracycline MUST be taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). Food severely impairs its absorption.
  • Dietary Restrictions (Chelation): Must not be taken simultaneously with milk, dairy products, antacids (calcium, magnesium, aluminum), or iron supplements. Tetracycline aggressively binds to these multivalent cations, forming insoluble complexes that completely block its absorption in the gut.
  • Swallowing Protocol: Capsules must be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Patients should not lie down immediately after taking the dose to prevent esophageal irritation.
  • Standard Adult Infection: 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 hours (four times daily).

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

  • Fanconi Syndrome (EXPIRED DRUG WARNING): Never administer expired Tetracycline. Degraded tetracycline causes a dangerous form of renal tubular dysfunction (Fanconi syndrome) leading to severe kidney damage. All expired stock must be strictly destroyed.
  • Pediatric & Pregnancy Contraindication: DO NOT use in pregnant women or children under 8 years of age. It strongly binds to calcium in developing teeth and bones, causing permanent yellow-gray-brown tooth discoloration and reversible inhibition of bone growth.
  • Photosensitivity: Exaggerated sunburn reactions can occur. Patients must avoid excessive sunlight or artificial UV exposure while taking this drug.
