Description

Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) Intravenous Infusion

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of essential critical care and pain management therapies. We provide high-purity Paracetamol IV Infusion (10 mg/ml / 1000 mg per 100 ml), manufactured in WHO–GMP certified sterile fluid facilities. This “First-Line Antipyretic & Analgesic” is a mandatory export to surgical wards, intensive care units (ICU), and government health ministries in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, serving as the gold standard for rapid pain relief and fever reduction when the oral route is compromised.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Paracetamol, a centrally acting, non-opioid, non-NSAID analgesic and antipyretic agent.

The “Opioid-Sparing” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (Central Inhibition): While its exact mechanism is still debated, Paracetamol primarily acts in the central nervous system (CNS). It inhibits the COX pathway (potentially COX-3) to reduce prostaglandin synthesis in the brain, effectively lowering the hypothalamic temperature set-point (antipyretic) and elevating the pain threshold (analgesic).
  • Opioid-Sparing Effect: In post-operative care, administering IV Paracetamol significantly reduces the need for narcotic opioids (like Morphine or Fentanyl), thereby lowering the risk of respiratory depression, sedation, and post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV).
  • Hemodynamic Stability: Unlike NSAIDs (like Diclofenac or Ketorolac), Paracetamol does not inhibit peripheral COX-1 or COX-2 enzymes. It does not cause gastric irritation, impair platelet function (bleeding risk), or compromise renal blood flow, making it exceptionally safe for surgical patients.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Oxidation Prevention: Paracetamol in an aqueous solution is highly susceptible to oxidation, which turns the liquid pink or brown. Our formulation utilizes specific antioxidants (like Cysteine) and our filling lines employ a strict Nitrogen Purging process to displace oxygen from the headspace, ensuring a stable 24-month shelf life.
  • Sterility Assurance: Large volume parenterals (LVPs) are subjected to validated terminal sterilization via autoclaving, ensuring an absolute pyrogen-free status crucial for direct vascular access in vulnerable ICU patients.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for short-term treatment of moderate pain and hyperthermia:

  • Post-Operative Analgesia: Immediate pain management following surgery.
  • Severe Fever: Rapid reduction of hyperthermia in critical care or when oral administration is not feasible.
  • Multimodal Analgesia: Used as a baseline analgesic in combination with opioids to manage severe acute pain.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Physician):

  • Route: Intravenous (IV) Infusion ONLY. (For 100 ml bottle).
  • Adults (>50 kg): 1000 mg (100 ml) up to 4 times a day.
  • Minimum Interval: At least 4 hours between administrations.
  • Maximum Daily Dose: Strictly 4 grams (4000 mg) per 24 hours.
  • Infusion Time: Must be administered as a 15-minute intravenous infusion.

Safety Warnings (CRITICAL):

  • Hepatotoxicity (Liver Damage): The primary risk of Paracetamol is liver failure due to overdose or accumulation. Ensure the 4g/day limit is not exceeded, accounting for all other medications that may contain acetaminophen.
  • Weight-Based Dosing: In patients weighing less than 50 kg, chronic alcoholics, or those with severe renal/hepatic impairment, the maximum daily dose must be reduced to 3g/day or lower.
  • Line Compatibility: Do not mix with other drugs in the same infusion line to avoid physical incompatibility.
