Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Veterinarian):

  • Route: Deep Intramuscular (IM). Slow IV is possible for 5% only.
  • Standard (5% or 10%): 3 mg to 10 mg per kg body weight daily for 3-5 days.
  • Long Acting (20%): 20 mg per kg body weight (1 mL per 10 kg) as a single dose. Effective for 3 to 5 days.
  • Precaution: Do not inject more than 10-20 mL at a single site to avoid tissue irritation.
  • Withdrawal Period: Meat (28 days), Milk (7 days).

Safety Warnings:

  • Rapid IV Collapse: Rapid intravenous injection can cause sudden collapse (hypotension) due to calcium binding.
  • Young Animals: Avoid use in very young animals as it causes discoloration of teeth and affects bone growth.
