Description

Indapamide Tablets

Healthy Inc is a specialized global supplier and exporter of metabolically neutral antihypertensive agents. We provide high-purity Indapamide Tablets (Immediate Release and Sustained Release), sourced from WHO–GMP certified solid dosage facilities. This “Dual-Action” diuretic is a top export to stroke prevention units, diabetic care centers, and government health formularies in Africa, LATAM, and Southeast Asia, recognized as the superior thiazide-like diuretic for long-term blood pressure control without lipid or glucose disruption.

Product Overview

This formulation contains Indapamide, a sulphonamide derivative with both diuretic and calcium-antagonist-like properties.

The “Vascular Protective” Specialist:

  • Dual Mechanism:
    • Natriuretic Effect: Like thiazides, it acts on the distal convoluted tubule (DCT) of the kidney to excrete sodium and water, reducing blood volume.
    • Vasodilatory Effect (Unique): Unlike standard thiazides, Indapamide directly relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessels (arterioles) by regulating calcium ion influx and stimulating prostacyclin synthesis. This reduces peripheral resistance significantly.
  • Metabolic Neutrality: It is “Lipid Neutral” (does not raise cholesterol) and “Glucose Neutral” (does not affect insulin sensitivity), making it the Diuretic of Choice for Diabetics and patients with metabolic syndrome.
  • Stroke Reduction: Clinical trials (like HYVET) have established Indapamide as a gold standard for preventing strokes in elderly hypertensive patients.

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • SR Matrix Technology: The 1.5 mg SR tablet utilizes a hydrophilic matrix system. Upon contact with GI fluid, the polymer swells to form a gel layer, controlling the diffusion of the drug to ensure consistent blood pressure reduction over a full 24-hour period.
  • Content Uniformity: Due to the low dosage (1.5 mg), we use advanced geometric blending to ensure every tablet contains the exact amount of API, preventing dose dumping or sub-therapeutic failure.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of:

  • Essential Hypertension: Used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents (e.g., Perindopril or Amlodipine).
  • Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH): Proven to regress the thickening of the heart muscle caused by chronic high blood pressure.
  • Edema: Treatment of salt and fluid retention associated with congestive heart failure (less common use today).

Dosage & Administration

Recommended Dosage (Strictly as per Cardiologist):

  • Route: Oral.
  • Sustained Release (1.5 mg): One tablet daily, preferably in the morning. Swallow whole; do not chew or crush.
  • Immediate Release (2.5 mg): One tablet daily, in the morning.
  • Timing: Morning administration is recommended to avoid nocturia (waking up at night to urinate), although the diuretic effect of Indapamide is milder than Furosemide.

Safety Warnings:

  • Electrolyte Imbalance: Can cause Hypokalemia (low potassium). Regular monitoring of serum potassium is required, especially in elderly patients.
  • Sulfa Allergy: Indapamide is a sulfonamide derivative. Contraindicated in patients with severe sulfa allergies.
  • Uric Acid: Can reduce uric acid excretion, potentially triggering gout attacks in susceptible individuals.
  • Photosensitivity: May cause sensitivity to sunlight.
