Product Overview

This formulation contains Quinine Sulphate, the salt of the alkaloid derived from the bark of the Cinchona tree.

The “Cerebral Malaria” Specialist:

  • Mechanism (Heme Detox Blockade): Like other quinolines, Quinine accumulates in the parasite’s food vacuole. It inhibits the enzyme heme polymerase, preventing the parasite from converting toxic free heme (released from digesting hemoglobin) into non-toxic hemozoin crystals. The buildup of free heme causes cell lysis and death of the parasite.
  • Resistance Breaker: It remains effective against multidrug-resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum where Chloroquine and sometimes Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine have failed.
  • Neuromuscular Action: It acts directly on muscle fibers to decrease the excitability of the motor end-plate, which explains its (secondary) use for nocturnal leg cramps.
  • Insulin Stimulation: It stimulates the pancreas to release insulin (a critical safety consideration during treatment).

Manufacturing Authority

Marketed and Distributed by Healthy Inc from WHO-GMP & ISO 9001:2015 certified units.

  • Taste Masking Engineering: Quinine is intensely bitter. An uncoated tablet creates immediate non-compliance (spitting out). We use a multi-layered sugar coating process that ensures the tablet is tasteless in the mouth but dissolves rapidly in the stomach.
  • Photostability: Quinine salts degrade and discolor when exposed to UV light. Our packaging lines utilize opaque blisters to guarantee the product reaches the patient with full potency.

Therapeutic Indications (Human Use)

Indicated for the treatment of severe infections and muscular conditions:

  • Malaria (P. falciparum): Treatment of chloroquine-resistant malaria and severe/complicated malaria (often following IV Quinine).
  • Nocturnal Leg Cramps: Treatment of persistent night cramps (only when other treatments fail, due to safety risks).
  • Babesiosis: Used in combination with Clindamycin for this
