Uses of Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets:

Chloroquine tablet is also used as prevention of malaria in adults, first dose is usually taken once a week and next dose the same day of the week and for prevention and treatment of malaria in infants and children, the dosage of chloroquine phosphate is based on the weight of child. This acts by blocking the action of enzyme known as heme polymerase in malarial parasites and this leads to accumulation of heme which is toxic to the malarial parasite which leads to death of malarial parasite. It is advisable to consult with your doctor before traveling to areas where malaria occurs.
